Students Residence – International Boarding School PDF Print E-mail
The boarding school opened in 1959, year in which the Calasanz School was founded, with the clear aim of offering those families who lived at a distance from the city of Salamanca the possibility of providing their children with the integral education they sought for them. From its very beginnings, the boarding school has adapted to our changing world both in the facilities as well as the educational processes it offers. However, one aspect has remained consistent throughout the years: the insistence on personal effort and good manners based on respect for others which every student who attends the school is expected to show. For this reason, we insist that those students who stay at the boarding school should do so voluntarily and never forced to by their families. We will always demand a positive attitude in which personal interest, effort and good manners prevail, so as to achieve an appropriate environment based on mutual respect.

AGES:

From Year 6 to the Sixth Form.

FACILITIES:

The boys' boarding school is located on the third floor of the main school building and the girls' on the fourth floor. All rooms are single, and each one has got a basin, bed, bedside table, study table and chair, bookshelves and a wardrobe. The showers and toilets are for common use and are located near the rooms with a sufficient number for all students. On both floors there is a T.V. room with computers which are controlled though the school´s computer security measures.

SCHEDULE:

We have got a very well organised schedule for each day of the week in order to help the students to adapt to the boarding school routine and rules.  During those weekends which the students spend at school, there is a special schedule for them. Students are encouraged to spend as many weekends as possible with their families as, although the school collaborates with them in the education of their children, it is the family who are truly responsible for the students. As a general rule, a student cannot stay at the boarding school more than two weekends in a row, except when there is an important, justified reason and the principal has been informed.

On Fridays or Saturdays, sixth form students can stay out until midnight, as long as they have their parents´ consent and depending on the maturity and responsibility they demonstrate throughout the school year. However, the school is not responsible for what might happen to them during this time.
